Electric car fast chargers.
The big manufacturers BMW – DAIMLER – FORD – WOLKSWAGEN/AUDI & Porsche have announced that they will joint efforts to develop a new universal and common network of electric fast chargers for electric vehicles/passengers cars, along the side of major motor ways of Europe.
The above mentioned companies have stated that they will hold the same percentage in these joint venture but they will invite and encourage more car manufacturers to joint them.
This agreement is an important step to create conditions for the spread of electric cars in Europe, with companies offering a large number of power stations with power levels of up to 350 kW, so that car owners can fill up with electricity their batteries, so they can travel long distances.
According to the joint press release of BMW – DAIMLER – FORD – WOLKSWAGEN/AUDI & Porsche, their network will be significantly faster than the fast-charging systems currently in operation today.
The build -up of the new stations will commence within 2017. Initially, 400 stations will be created across Europe, and by 2020, there will be thousands of stations.
